The club was established in 1936 as “The Green Goose Club” and seven years later re-branded as “The Green Valley Outing Club.” Once nearly 100 acres, Green Valley lost half of its land in 1973 when the State of Ohio, acting under eminent domain, seized it for expansion of interstate 271.
In 1973, the club built the first in ground swimming pool and in 1995 underwent another name change, becoming “Green Valley Inc.” In 2001, Green Valley built its current L-shaped pool that serves as the focal point of the club.
Several years ago, Livestrong.com included Green Valley among its campground listings, mentioning its family orientation and various amenities, including its 47 wooded acres complete with hiking trails, volleyball court, shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, heated spa, petanque, and playgrounds for the children. Recently the club has a pickleball court, junior’s clubhouse, and a fourth rental cabin.
The setting is Green Valley’s calling card. Nestled between a horse farm and homes that sit on at least two acres, the club has retained its rural feel. It maintains a network of nature trails that roll through the woods. There’s a creek in the woods, along with a small pond on the property.
